BEL AIR

The community attracts celebrities, families, and entertainers looking for a tranquil and discreet neighborhood to call home.

Welcome to Bel Air

A secluded Los Angeles treasure

With few social hubs, Bel Air is truly a residential neighborhood. Just north of Beverly Hills, the community attracts celebrities, families, and entertainers looking for a tranquil and discreet neighborhood to call home. Located amid the Santa Monica foothills, you can find expansive properties with gorgeous home designs. Because there is more space in Bel Air compared to other areas of LA, property owners can get creative with their home style. Mansions and gated properties line the winding roads of Bel Air.

Bel Air was established in 1920 by Alphonzo Bell, who bought a house on a large ranch after becoming a millionaire. The tradition of million-dollar estates continues, as Bel Air is considered one of the country’s most elite suburban neighborhoods. Bel Air's traffic is exclusive to the residents without a so-called “downtown” area. The gated community makes it a pinnacle of glamour and luxury. Access to the community is only available through the east, west, or north gates. Bel Air is an oasis, to say the least.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Although no downtown or shopping hub exists, Bel Air still has plenty of attractions and amenities to enjoy. The world-famous Wolfgang Puck at Hotel Bel Air is one of the finest restaurants in town, located in a relaxed and elegant garden setting. The ambiance is unmatched. The restaurant features an innovative array of dishes reflecting a California lifestyle with Mediterranean influences. For Italian food, you need to try Il Segreto Ristorante. The restaurant has delicious pizza and pasta dishes as authentic as its name.

For something more upbeat to enjoy a night out with friends, check out Vibrato Grill Jazz, the perfect mix of delicious cuisine and world-class music. This is the premier spot for a live jazz experience with a tasty cocktail in hand.

Do not worry; there is shopping too! Westwood Village shopping has you covered for some good old retail therapy. You can find groceries, clothing, jewelry, and coffee in the same location—a great place to come together with friends and spend the day strolling through the various storefronts.

Things to Do

With an abundant history and well-preserved natural areas, Bel Air has some of the most beautiful places to enjoy your day. The stunning Hannah Carter Japanese Garden is a well-maintained private garden. It features streams, a waterfall, and a teahouse.

Bel Air also has some great hiking. The Getty View trail is a 2.5-mile hike with stunning views of the city and the famous Getty Museum. Do not forget to also pay a visit to Stone Canyon Reservoir Park, which is conserved by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. Locals can get a different view of the Reservoir from the Stone Canyon Overlook trail. If you need some time in nature or searching for an outdoor spot to meet, try out Beverly Glen Park.
